Directions Select various objects that require children to use tongs or tweezers to pick them up. Examples are: cereal, cut-up raw vegetables, cooked rice, dried fruits, corks, sugar cubes, cotton balls, buttons, and cooked peas. Experiment with how to grasp, squeeze, and move the object from one egg carton to the other. Once your child gets good at tweezing and dropping, have a race, or count how many objects can be moved before one is dropped.
