When I think of Halloween as a kid, I instantly remember the excitement and magic of my school’s annual Halloween party and bake sale to raise money for school supplies. I can almost smell the pumpkins, apples and sugar in the air. What better way to celebrate the holiday season than whipping up a fun and festive Halloween snack or two? More: Host the Perfect Halloween Party Hoping to evoke the grandeur and magic of the Halloween season, I’ve scoured Pinterest for some of the most creative, tasty and spooky snacks out there. I’ve rounded up a few of my favorite Halloween recipes (some healthy, and a couple naughty) that are perfect for Halloween parties, school events, or a surprise treat for your kids.

Halloween Peanut Butter Spider Cookies

You can’t go wrong when peanut butter and chocolate are involved. It is one of my favorite flavor combinations, and these cookies are simply delicious. While these scary spider cookies are a huge hit with my family, be sure to consider any nut allergies. For a nut-free version of these peanut butter cookies, you can substitute peanut butter for Sunbutter and use Free2b Sunbutter cups from your local grocery store instead. Credit: Mommy Musings

Halloween Banana Popsicles

Halloween usually screams candy and sugar galore, but there are some ways to sneak some healthy foods, like fruit, into the mix without losing that Halloween feeling. If you are looking to keep your Halloween treats on the healthier side this year, these Halloween Banana Popsicles are the perfect answer. The kids will love them and their parents will thank you when their kids don’t come home with a sugar high. Credit: Well Plated by Erin

Frankenstein Rice Krispie Treats

These Frankenstein Rice Krispie Treats are my inner child’s dream. As a lover of all things marshmallow-y and sweet, these might be my new go-to treat to whip up for a Halloween party. Plus, they’re super easy to make! I can’t wait until my son is old enough so we can make these together. Credit: Big Bear’s Wife

Halloween Marshmallow Pops

Speaking of marshmallows … these Halloween Marshmallow Pops are genius! If you don’t have the time to bake, these quick and easy pops are the perfect solution. You can throw these together at a minute’s notice, making them a busy parent’s dream. You’ll want to keep this recipe in your arsenal for the next bake sale call. Halloween Graveyard Brownies

Who doesn’t love an ooey gooey brownie?! These graveyard brownies are so cute and I can guarantee they taste as good as they look. Halloween Bat Bites

I never thought I would say this, but how cute are these bat bites? They are almost … almost too cute to eat. The best part is they only require four ingredients, so no need to stock up on items you’ll never use again like fancy extracts or food colorings. My son would gobble up the whole tray if he had the option. Credit: Chelsea’s Messy Apron

Strawberry Ghosts

Chocolate-covered strawberries are a classic, but not something we usually think about at Halloween time. But then again, I’ve never seen them dressed as a ghost before. These strawberry ghosts make for a great haunted treat to have at home or to bring to a Halloween party. These take almost no time or kitchen skills to prepare. And trust me, the kids won’t be the only ones gobbling these up. These are a parent pleaser.
